先日、久留米市の山下脳神経外科の上野Dr.と会食をさせていただきました。
場所はもちろん……
「メキシコ料理エルドラド」😂
最近、よくお世話になっています。笑
今回は、普段の診療や現場で感じていること、患者さんやご家族との関わりの中で考えていることなど、いろいろなお話を聞かせていただきました。
普段なかなか聞くことのできない、医師としての視点。
そして、日々患者さんと向き合っているからこそ感じること。
一つひとつのお話がとても興味深く、たくさんの学びがありました。
僕自身、訪問看護や訪問リハビリ、相談支援という立場で地域の方々に関わっていますが、立場が違えば見えている景色も違います。
だからこそ、
「そんなふうに考えるのか」
「そこを大切にされているんだ」
と、新しい視点をいただくことができました。
やっぱり、「人」と直接会って話すって大切と感じました。
仕事の話だけではなく、いろいろな話をしながら笑って、食事をして。
そんな時間の中から、ふと新しい気づきが生まれることがあります。
今回も、たくさん学ばせていただきました。
上野Dr.、貴重なお時間をありがとうございました！
これからも、地域で暮らす方々にとって何ができるのか。
それぞれの立場を越えて、いろんな方とつながりながら、考え続けていきたいと思います。
そして……
次回も場所も「エルドラド」で。笑

An Evening with Dr. Ueno
The other day, I had the pleasure of having dinner with Dr. Ueno from Yamashita Neurosurgery in Kurume.
And of course…
Where else?
El Dorado. 😂
It has become our unofficial meeting place. haha
We talked about many things — what he experiences in his daily practice, what he thinks about while working with patients, and the things he has learned through his years in the field.
Listening to a doctor’s perspective is always fascinating.
Sometimes, the things we notice in the field are completely different depending on where we stand.
As someone involved in home-visit nursing, rehabilitation, and consultation support, I see things from my own perspective.
But when I listen to someone working on the medical side, I get to see another part of the picture.
And that is exactly why these conversations are so valuable.
Not every important lesson comes from a meeting room or a textbook.
Sometimes, it comes over dinner.
Sometimes, it comes from a casual conversation.
And sometimes, it comes from simply sitting across the table from someone and talking honestly about the work we do.
I learned a lot from Dr. Ueno that evening.
More than anything, I was reminded once again how important it is to connect with people beyond the boundaries of our own professions.
Different perspectives.
Different experiences.
Different ways of seeing the same community.
When we bring those perspectives together, I believe we can create better support for the people who live here.
