Who Do We Want to Work With at REHANOWA?

Lately, I’ve found myself thinking again about a simple question:

What kind of people do we want to work with at REHANOWA?

At REHANOWA, we don’t have an incentive-based pay system.

We don’t have sales quotas, either.

We don’t want our people competing over who made the most visits or who generated the most revenue.

Of course, as a company, making a profit matters.
We need revenue to keep our business sustainable and continue providing the services our clients need.

But there is one thing I feel strongly about:

I don’t want our team members to become rivals.

That is not the kind of company I want REHANOWA to be.

Our team is made up of nurses, physical therapists, occupational therapists, speech-language-hearing therapists, consultation support specialists, and administrative staff.

We have men and women.
People of different ages, backgrounds, and levels of experience.

Different personalities.
Different ways of thinking.
Different skills.
Different reasons for choosing this profession.

In other words, we are truly different people with different strengths.

And I don’t believe everyone needs to think the same way.

It’s okay to have different opinions.
It’s okay to approach things differently.

In fact, I believe those differences are what make an organization stronger.

There is, however, one quality that I consider essential:

The ability to work together.

Having your own opinion is important.

But having an opinion is not the same as forcing it onto someone else.

It starts with:

“This is what I think.”

And then continues with:

“But what do you think?”

Listening to another person.
Respecting their perspective.
And working together to find a better answer.

To me, that is what being a team means.

Honestly, I know this may sound idealistic.

This is work.
People will disagree.
Sometimes our values won’t align.
There will be moments when we simply don’t agree with each other.

But that is exactly why I believe respect matters.

Instead of asking,

“Who is right?”

I want us to ask,

“How can we make this better together?”

That is the kind of mindset I want to see at REHANOWA.

Working in home-visit nursing, rehabilitation, and consultation support is never a one-person job.

We work with clients, families, communities, and, most importantly, with one another.

That is why I’m not simply looking for people with the highest level of knowledge or technical ability.

Of course, knowledge and skills matter.

So does the desire to keep learning and growing.

But beyond those things, I value something even more:

Being someone who cares about people.

Being someone who respects their colleagues.

Being someone who can embrace perspectives different from their own.

These are the people I want to build REHANOWA with.

A company is not built by people who all think alike.

It is built by people who are different, who respect those differences, and who choose to move forward together.

Maybe that sounds idealistic.

But I believe it is worth pursuing.

And if you share that belief—

you are the kind of person I want at REHANOWA.
